Oops...I've done it again! I am a habitual Habitat for Humanity ReStore shopper! Eek! I love skimming through their cabinet door section. Love Love Love to! So without further ado~here is a cabinet door turned Shabby Chic DIY Tray.
I started with this cabinet door:
I sanded it and used wood putty to fill the original cabinet handle holes.
I added a coat of Dark Brown spray paint by Krylon and then a coat of Dover White by Krylon.
I sanded for the shabby look. ;) I spray painted the handles and the decorative pieces (also purchased at the ReStore) with Anodized Bronze by Rustoleum. I drilled 4 holes for the screws. Applied the handles and DONE!
Here's how it turned out:
And with the added touch of the battery operated Dollar Store candles I painted and the pencil Starfish...I find myself singing, "oh my my...oh hell yeah." lol
Sing along if you'd like!

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea. So beachy. I just distressed my first piece and kind of struggled with the paint. Yours is so well done.
