While sifting through http://www.pinterest.com/ I found a quote I really liked.
**At the very bottom of this post you can see what else I discovered there.**
=)
Anyhow~~> here is the quote that caught my attention:
If you do not like where you are, then change it.
You are not a tree.
*interesting & inspiring*
I decided to breathe new life into this thrift store frame:
I gave it a quick sanding with fine grit sand paper. Then wiped it clean. Then I added a light, nearly dry brushed coat of Benjamin Moore's Spring Meadow.
And sanded it again. I mixed Burnt Umber craft paint with a glaze I picked up at the local ReStore. I brushed it on and wiped it off. I also added Burnt Umber all on it's own and wiped it off.
While it dried, I cut a piece of scrapbook paper purchased from Hobby Lobby to fit the frame opening.
I also created an Up Words & On Words vinyl design and used my Silhouette to cut it out.
See more designs at: http://www.upwordsandonwords.etsy.com/
I cleaned the glass and put transfer tape on the vinyl.
*HELPFUL HINT*
When transferring vinyl to glass wipe the glass with a wet rag or windex. This allows you to move the design if necessary BUT also helps keep the vinyl from bubbling. Once you place the vinyl in it's proper place, let it sit so that the glass may dry. DO NOT REMOVE the transfer tape. This can take several minutes. After it has sat long enough to dry, use a warm damp rag and rub it across the transfer tape. This will help the transfer tape release the vinyl. YAY! =)
I wet the glass with a swipe of windex, placed the design and gave it a few minutes to dry. I rubbed the transfer tape with a warm damp cloth and peeled it away from the lettering. I put the glass back in the frame, put the scrapbook backing paper in the background and closed the frame up!
HERE IT IS:
Like? Yeah, I think I do.
Even if the frame looks grey in the pictures. lol
It's actually a very subtle light green.

I still don't really know much about Pinterest but I will keep at it until I DO understand it better.
While exploring there today I came across a quote that inspired this blog project. I wish I would have "saved" it or figured out the source BUT instead, I got busy and clicked out of the site without the info. And when I went back in to try to find it...I came up empty handed. But for sure...if I do find it I will update this post with that information.

Have a great day!
