Farmhouse Inspired-Table & Chairs Re-do

How lucky am I?
My neighbors were going to donate their
dining room table and chair set. BUT, when
they saw a Facebook post of mine...they
donated it to me!
Oh thank you! Thank you!
Thank you, good neighbors!

Before:

After:

{SWOON-worthy}
I absolutely love how the table turned out. I originally wanted to stain just the top.
I am SOOOO glad I went ahead and stained it all!

First, I sanded the table. Once sanded, I cleaned it and added three coats of stain.
I sanded all the chairs as well. I had to do a little fixing up but not much at all. ;)
I used Heirloom White spray paint on the chairs.
I added three coats of polycrylic to the table top.
*I hand sanded with medium grit sandpaper*

Whattya think??

The DIY Show Off

Hello Lovely!

If you have been following my blog,
you are probably catching on to the fact
that my Mom is amazing!
Not just amazing BUT she also
is amazing at finding good deals.

While out pushing and elbowing gracefully making her way to the garage sale goods,
she found this little diamond in the rough:

Cute huh?? Very complimentary to the
shovel and the red wagon
wheel in the background eh?

I gave her a lil sandin'.

I had a stain tinted at Lowe's and used it to stain the top.
I sanded between coats and added 2 thick coats.
After the stain, I added 3 coats of Polycrylic, sanding between coats.
I used water-based poly which makes clean up
so much easier.
I let it sit overnight. Then, I covered it with
newspaper and painters tape.
I spray painted the bottom Rusto-leum's
Heirloom White.
I FINALLY found Heirloom White
and it was on sale
for $2.98 a can.
 Yep $2.98!!
Oh YEAH!
(found it @ Home Depot of all places)
Also, while at Home Depot,
I purchased a new drawer pull.
It was silver but I spray painted it
Espresso.

READY?!?
Here She is:

I happen to {LOVE} her.
I really, really, really wanted to paint her with
a splash of color. BUT, because she will be going
in my space at Marketplace 3301, I decided
to play it safe. If by chance she does.not.sell,
a splash of color she will get!!

Have a great day!

INSPIRE, believe, Dream, LOVE

While out thrifting I found a great piece of wood
that measured about 4' long by 12" tall.
SUPER AFFORDABLE!!

Before picture? Crud. I knew I didn't have ALL my ducks in a row.
Darn it!
LOL

My wonderful Husband cut the board for me. He cut 3-12" pieces and
1 slightly smaller. (I haven't used it yet)
YAY Hubby!

Here is what the board looked like once cut:

And with a spray painted back:

The other board (you will see in a minute) was given to me
by my Mom. She purchased it while out thrifting. I sanded it thinking...hey, I can
use this. Then I noticed it had a heart and leaf pattern on it.
Soo...I knew it had to be covered. I spray painted it black!

On with the show!
K...so I spray painted all the boards to coordinate with scrapbook paper
I chose to cover the "signs" with.
Nothing special. Just took em out and gave them a quick coat.

I picked out 4 pieces of scrapbook paper each with a different pattern.
And used Elmer's spray adhesive to apply the paper to the wood.
This stuff works well! Be sure to protect your area and surrounding
area though...it can get kind of messy.
Nature of the beast. =)

I used a box cutter and a cutting board to remove the excess paper.

Here they are all fancied up:

I lightly sanded the edges and outlined them with
Walnut and Black Soot distress ink.

I created some Up Words & On Words vinyl lettering to further embellish them. I used beige, white, dark grey {LOVE} and dark brown for the lettering.
I applied the words to the newly beautified signs.

Here they are:
~INSPIRE~

~believe~

~Dream~

~LOVE~
(this is the "other" one, lol)

They will all be added to the space I have rented at
Here's a sneak peak of my treasured space!

Hopefully some of the sneak peak looks familiar!
=)

Have a great day!

Enjoy the simple things in Life-old window

Yesterday I started working on a 6 pane old window. Ideally...it would have been great to have it shabbier but, "you gotta do what you can with what you have." I didn't bother with sanding or any touch ups. I did wash it up though.
I filled each of the three lower panes with different scrapbook paper pieces embellished with an elegantly simple dandelion theme. I used Elmer's spray adhesive to get them good 'n stuck. Sticky, sticky stuff and messy. Use caution when spraying it. ;)
 [LOVE]

It's hard to tell but the paper is very pretty.
I created an Up Words & On Words vinyl design and cut it out in beige using my Silhouette.

I applied the middle vinyl first to make it easier to center the outer words.
**HINT: when putting vinyl on glass it's a good idea to moisten (weird word) the glass with Windex. It helps for TWO reasons: 1. easier to re-position if necessary and 2. helps lessen the chance of air bubbles between the glass and the vinyl**
