Monogrammed Wooden Plaque

Behold!
I have finished a project!
Yes, it's ok to think to yourself...
FINALLY!
I'm thinking the same thing!

It was so simple.
And it was fairly inexpensive
given the fact that I had almost
all the supplies.

Here is what I started with:

Mod Podge
Scrapbook paper
Metal Numbers
Wooden Initial
Craft Paint-Mountain Mud
Scraper (for the bubbles)
Foam Brushes
Furniture Nails
Heavy Duty Metal Clip
Distress Ink

Here's what I did:
I used the craft paint and painted the edge
of my wood piece. While it dried, I
painted my "K" also with craft paint.
I put Mod Podge on the front of the wooden plaque
and laid it face down on my scrapbook paper.
I turned it over and used my Scraper to
work out all the bubbles. While it dried,
I used Distress Ink to distress the K.
I placed the plaque on a cutting board face down
and cut out around it with an exacto. Being careful
not to rip the paper. I used a sanding block
to sand the extra paper off the edges.
I also distressed the edges with Distress Ink.
I added the metal numbers securing them
with furniture nails.
Lastly, I clipped the K to the
plaque with the metal clip.

{LOVE}

Finished:

The 383 is my wedding date!
03.08.03
Also, my two favorite numbers.

All the supplies used (except furniture nails)
were purchased at
Hobby Lobby so if you get lucky on
timing, you may be able to purchase
them all on sale.

Have a great day!

Thanks for stopping by!
