Farmhouse Inspired- Table & Chair Transformation

OH yeah!
I finally finished
my dining room table
and chairs transformation!

Good bye, honey oak...
hello, farmhouse inspiration!

HERE is what
they look NOW:

HERE is what
they looked like BEFORE:

Well?? Whatta ya think?

*If I am being honest...which I am, I have to say~
I wish the table would have turned
out darker. And I am not
sure I am diggin' the chair color. It
is orange and I have an orange
and burgndy coffee themed
kitchen.*

Despite those two things~
I {LOVE} them together!!

1-2-3 Darling side tables...what to do??

My Mom
(whom, by the way is aMOMzing!!)
picked up these cute
double doored
curvy legged
lovely little side tables.

Here's the problem...
I need some suggestions
as to how to re-define them.
Doors? Door less? Glass? Chicken wire?
What color(s)? Modern? Shabby chic? Stained top?
Painted top? Stenciled top?

Anyone??
I NEED to get these
ugly ducklings transformed into
beautiful swans
AND get them out of
my Hubby's man cave!

Have a great day!

LIVE the life...

F~I~N~A~L~L~Y!!!
a.finished.project.
Don't get me wrong, I have
been plenty busy BUT
I have also left a
pluther of projects either unfinished
or untouched.
And some that I have finished have
ended up going straight to Marketplace 3301
where I have a space all my own!

I will give you the steps, then I will get
to the pictures!

1. Found cabinet door at our local Restore
2. Added a coat of Warm Scones (Ace Hardware) paint
3. Created an Up Words & On Words vinyl design using my Silhouette
4. Placed the LIVE lettering on the door
5. Spray painted over the entire door with Rustoleum's Anodized Bronze
6. Peeled the vinyl off exposing LIVE in Warm Scones
7. Lightly sanded outer edge of door and used minimal strokes
to dry brush Warm Scones on for a distressed look
8. Added light blue vinyl lettering to complete the saying

HERE it is:
Sorry...no before picture. :(

LIVE
the life you've imagined

Go on! Do it!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day.

A germ...

*ugh*
Try explaining -a- germ to a 6 year old.
No, it's not an insect.
Yes, there are good germs and bad germs.
No, you can't "technically" see them.
Yes, you can see them in a microscope.
Yes, I have looked at "stuff" in a microscope before.
Yes, germs are smaller than two eyelashes.
Yes, sneezes are FULL of germs.
No, I don't know why we can't see them.
Yes, thank you kindergarten teacher for clarifying
that there are good germs, bad germs
and something something something to do with white blood cells.
>_<
eek!

This parenting stuff is complicated!
{sigh}

Old Fashioned Gate from cupboard door

I have done a project similar to
this one already. But, I had
two sizes of the same style
cupboard.

I redefined the smaller cupboard
door a while back. I planned to keep it
and put it on the mantle I don't have.
Good plan huh??
It has made it's way
around my living room
being moved from
spot to spot.
I still don't have MY mantle yet.

Here is what it looks like in case you missed it:

Here is the larger one:

This is what I did:
1. I sanded it with 220 sandpaper
2. once clean, I painted it with a coat of
Hamilton Green. An Ace Hardware paint color.
3. once dry, I added a coat of
Sherwin Williams Divine White.
4. once dry, I sanded it to expose the green
as well as the wood color.
5. I used Minwax Water-Based
Clear Tint Wood Stain in
American Walnut
(I chose the American Walnut color
and had the stain tinted)
6. I measured & cut a piece of corner bead for the center.
7. I quick painted (shabby-dry brushed) the
corner bead with both colors. Then sanded.
8. Using 2 small nails, I nailed the corner bead on the
cupboard door.

Ta-da!:

Whattya think??
I LOVE it!
Now I have to decide
which one will be going to my
space at Marketplace 3301
and which one I will keep.
Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
