BUT~~>here I am. Still standing and ready to post my latest project.
I started with a cabinet door & yes, I forgot to take a pic of it before I started. But here is what it looked like after several coats of spray chalkboard paint on it:

FIRST: I taped off the "border" and spray painted the center with several coats of chalkboard paint
When it was dry, I mixed some paint colors to get a dark grey. I put two coats of dark grey on the border. Once that was dry, I mixed some more paint to create a green'ish' color. I brushed it on lightly and let dry. Once dry, I gave it a very light sanding and distressed with Black Soot Distress Ink.
I spray painted a silver drawer pull a green called Fern and added it to the chalkboard with two black screws.
